Come potrebbe?

Osho: Before You Make Love, Meditate

Osho on Tantra
The buddhist and the hindu Tantra are totally different things. Just the name is the same. If you are confused about them, that can create a very deep conflict in your body. Forget both, mm? because it will be difficult for you to come to a harmony between these two. I will give you a simple method.
Don’t be bothered about hindu and buddhist Tantra.
While making love, three things have to be remembered. One is: before you make love, meditate.
Osho on Tantra
Never make love without meditating, otherwise the love will remain sexual. Before you meet the woman you should rise higher in your consciousness because then the meeting will happen on a higher plane. For at least forty minutes sit looking at the wall with just a very dim light on so that it gives a mysteriousness.
Sit silently and don’t move the body; remain like a statue. Then when you make love, the body will move, so give it another extreme of first being unmoving so the body gathers momentum to move deeply. Then the urge becomes so vibrating that the whole body, every fibre is ready to have a movement. Then only tantric orgasm is possible. You can have some music on… classical music will do; something that gives a very subtle rhythm to the body.
Make the breathing as slow as possible because when you make love the breathing will go deep and fast. So just go on slowing down, but don’t force it, otherwise it will go fast. Simply suggest that it slows down.
Both meditate together and when you are both feeling meditative, that is the moment to love. Then you will never feel tension and energy will be flowing. If you are not feeling meditative, don’t make love. If meditation is not happening that day, forget all about love.
People do simply the opposite. Almost always couples fight before they make love. They become angry, nag each other and bring all sorts of conflict — and then they make love. They fall very low in their consciousnesses, so of course love cannot be very satisfying. It will be frustrating and you will feel a tension.
The second thing is: when you are making love, before you start, worship the partner and let the partner worship you. So after meditation, worship. Face each other totally naked and worship each other, because Tantra cannot be between man and woman. It can only be between a god and a goddess. It is a gesture, but very significant. The whole attitude has to become sublime so that you disappear. Touch each other’s feet, put garlands of flowers there.
The man becomes transformed into Shiva and the woman is transformed into Shakti. Now your humanity is irrelevant, your form is irrelevant, your name is irrelevant; you are just pure energy.
Worship brings that energy into focus. And don’t pretend. The worship has to be true. It cannot be just a ritual, otherwise you will miss. Tantra is not a ritual. There is much ritual in it, but Tantra is not ritual.
You can repeat the ritual. You can bow down to her feet and touch them; that won’t help. Let it be a deeply meaningful gesture. Really look at her. She is no more your wife, no more your girlfriend, no more woman, no more body, but a configuration of energy. Let her first become divine, then make love to her. Then love will change its quality. It will become divine. That’s the whole methodology of Tantra.
Then in the third step you make love. But let your making love be more like a happening than like a making. The english expression ‘making love’ is ugly. How can you make love? It is not something like doing; it is not an action. It is a state. You can be in it but you cannot make it. You can move in it but you cannot do it. You can be loving but you cannot manipulate it. The whole western mind tries to manipulate everything.
Even if the western mind comes to find God someday, God will be in trouble. They will harness Him in some way or other, manipulate Him. They will put Him to some use, some utilitarian purpose.
Even love has become a sort of doing. No.
When you make love, be possessed. Move slowly, touch each other’s bodies; play with each other’s bodies. The body is like a musical instrument. Don’t be in a hurry. Let things grow. If you move slowly, suddenly both your energies will rise together, as if something has possessed you. It will happen instantly and simultaneously together. Then only Tantra is possible. Move now into love ….
Just feel energy descending on you and let that energy have its movement. Sometimes you will start shrieking, shriek. Sometimes you will start saying things, say. Sometimes only moans will be coming out, or some mudras, gestures; allow them. It is going to be a maddening thing, but one has to allow it. And don’t be afraid, because it is through your allowing that it is happening. The moment you want to stop it, it stops, so you are never beyond control.
And when gods make love it is almost wild. There are no rules, no regulations. One moves just on the spur of the moment. Nothing is taboo… nothing is inhibited. Whatsoever happens in that moment is beautiful and holy; whatsoever, I say, unconditionally. If you bring your mind into it you will destroy it completely. If you suddenly feel like sucking her finger and you say ‘What nonsense!’ then you have brought in the mind. You may feel like sucking her breast; nothing wrong in it.
Nobody knows what is going to happen. You are simply left in the divine vortex. It will take you, and it will take you wherever it wants. You are simply available, ready to move with it. You don’t direct it… you have simply become vehicles. Let energies meet in their own ways. The man should be dropped out of it — just pure energy. You will not be making love only through the genital organs; you will be making love through your whole body.
That’s the meaning of shivalingam: no face, no hands, no feet — just the phallic symbol. When Shiva made love he became just the phallus — the whole of his body. It is very beautiful… no face, nothing.
Everything has disappeared.
It is not that you are using your sexual organs only; the sex has spread all over. You head is as much a part of it as your feet. You have become a phallus. You are no more man; you are just energy. She is also no more a woman; just energy, a vulva. It is a very wild thing.
If you meditate before and then worship each other, there is no danger; everything will move rightly.
You will attain to a peak of orgasm that you have never known. Sometimes you will achieve it: a very great orgasm in which the whole body throbs and pulsates. By and by you reach a climax; again you come down. It will cleanse your whole being, the whole system. Sometimes there will be no ejaculation but orgasm will be there.
There are two types of orgasm: the peak orgasm and the valley orgasm. In the peak orgasm you will have an ejaculation and she will have also an ejaculation of some subtle energies. In the valley orgasm you will not have any ejaculation. It will be a passive orgasm… very silent, very subtle. The throb will be there but almost imperceptible. In the peak orgasm you will feel very very blissful. In the valley orgasm you will feel very very peaceful. And both are needed; both are two aspects of Tantra. Every peak has its valley, and every valley has its peak. A peak cannot exist without the valley nor vice versa.
[Osho said not to be too concerned about having an ejaculation. The western mind tends to be too concerned about it happening and feels that something is wrong when it doesn’t happen. The whole thing is to be totally in it and to leave things in the hands of God; it is His business. Your business is just to enjoy, delight, celebrate.]
And when it has happened and you have both achieved to a deep orgasm, don’t pull yourself out of her. After the orgasm, remain inside her and rest for a few moments. That rest is very very deep.
After an orgasm a rest is like a valley. You have reached to the very peak and now you have come back to the valley. It is very cool and shady and you rest.
And really much happens after the orgasm… the merging, the melting. Bodies are tired, exhausted, spent. The mind is shocked. It has almost been like an electric shock.
When you come out of your love state, again pray together; end with a prayer. The difference is that when you meditate, you meditate separately and she meditates separately, because meditation cannot be done together. Meditation is a lonely effort. It is not a relationship. So you may be meditating together but still you meditate alone; you are alone and she is alone.
Then you worship each other. That’s again different. The other becomes the object of worship.
Then you make love and you are completely lost. You are not yourself, she is not herself. Nobody knows who is who. All is lost in a whirlpool of energy. The polarity of man and woman is no more a polarity; boundaries merge, mingle. Sometimes you will feel like a woman and she will feel like a man. Sometimes she comes on top of you. Sometimes you become passive and she becomes active and the role changes. It is a great drama of energies. All is lost, abandoned. Then you come out of that innermost experience; pray together. That’s the fourth thing.
Just thank God. And never complain. Whatsoever happens is right. Don’t say ‘This has not happened. This should have happened.’ Who are we? He knows better. So just thank Him, whatsoever happens; thank Him with deep gratefulness. Bow down and put your head on the earth and remain there for a few moments in deep gratefulness.
Meditation is alone. In worship, the other is important, and in prayer you both pray to God. So these three things have to be involved. They will create the ecology in which Tantra happens. And once a week will do.
If you are moving in Tantra then no other love should be allowed otherwise it dissipates energy. But whenever you want to make love, make sure you have enough time. It should not be done in a hurry. It should not be like work. It is a game, play, and these energies are so subtle that if you are in a hurry, nothing happens. Tantra is not a fragment. You cannot practise it unless you create the situation. It is like a flower.
You have to sow the seed and take care of the plant and water it every day. You look to whether the sun is reaching it or not. You cannot bring the flower, but you can create the situation in which one day the flower comes and the bud opens.
So these three things are sowing the seed, caring for the plant, watering it and being continuously concerned about it; being careful, protecting it. Then one day suddenly — the flower of Tantra. It will happen.

Lingam, Pillar of Light

Tantra teacher Sarita talks on reclaiming the power, joy, wildness and dignity of the male genitals.

“Behold the Shiva Lingam, beautiful as molten gold, firm as the Himalayan Mountain, tender as a folded leaf, life-giving like the solar orb, behold the charm of his sparkling jewels!”
From ‘Linga Purana’, translated by Nik Douglas
Meaning and Symbolism of the Lingam
We need to make friends with the Lingam and all it represents. This is the only path that can finally bring healing to each man and woman and to this divided world.
tantra loversIn Sanskrit, the word Lingam has a couple of meanings, which are deeply symbolic: ‘Sign’ is one meaning, represented by the fact that an erect penis is the sign that god is ready to create new life. Another meaning is ‘Pillar of Light’, or ‘Wand of Light.’ A phallus becomes a ‘pillar of light’ when a man has become conscious of his godliness. The way he becomes conscious of his godliness is part of what Tantra is all about. Tantra offers methods to help both men and women attain supreme consciousness while in the act of love union. This is achieved by bringing the potent and animalistic energy of sex into alignment with spirit. When instinctual drive and energy merge with spiritual power and energy a metamorphosis happens and it is in this metamorphosis that man is reborn as god, a co-creator with the whole.
For millennia phallus worship was practised all over the world, and even today vestiges of this worship are still in evidence, particularly in India and Japan. In India, a wonderfully balanced quality is evident in Lingam (phallus) worship as the carved Lingam is always placed within a delicately carved Yoni, (the Sanskrit term for female genitals, meaning sacred place). This ensures that the worship of the lingam and male principle is balanced with female qualities (as happens throughout nature).
It is very unfortunate that, in the West in particular, phallic symbols such as the giant obelisks present in many cities have no Yoni surrounding them. Because of this, they give out a vibration of the masculine testosterone fuelled energy of competition and territorialness, without any balancing love or nurturing offered by the feminine principle of the Yoni.
At this time in our society, many men are not aware of the enormous potential for spiritual awakening contained in their Lingam. Instead, they have become addicted to pornography, which has been proven to lead to impotence. Mentalising sexual energy is very different than bringing it into alignment with spirit. When we bring a meditative awareness to our animal nature, we experience the divine hidden within the density of sexual desire. This does not lead to a loss of pleasure as some people might imagine. Rather, pleasure is enhanced thousand fold, becoming limitless. A man has the potential to experience universal consciousness through his lingam and all it represents.
Every orgasm, every pleasure is a divine experience. The entire universe springs forth from enjoyment. Pleasure is the origin of all that exists. But the perfect love is that whose object is limitless. It is that love which is pure love, the love of love itself, the love of the transcendental being of sensual pleasure.”
From Karpatri, ‘Lingopasana Rahasya’
Discovering a Balanced Masculinity
Crete Snake GoddessI have been working with men for many years and having grown up with five brothers, I feel an innate love and respect for the masculine. Many times, it is sad for me to realise that men do not understand themselves in the positive way that I see and experience them. Many forms of conditioning have corrupted the sheer beauty and grandeur of the masculine experience.
Men are being condemned very heavily since the advent of the women’s liberation movement. And yes, it is true that there has been a strong abuse of power in men’s actions for the past two thousand years or so. I like to look at the bigger picture.
Before the advent of patriarchy, a dominant matriarchy ruled the world. During those times, in many places in the world, women abused their power over men. Men were offered in human sacrifice on a yearly basis. To become devotees of the great mother, men castrated themselves and proudly wore the castration knife on their belt. The goddess was benevolent but also cruel. She ruled the mysteries of birth and therefore considered herself to be superior. Naturally, when men discovered that they could develop their mind and might to outwit the feminine, they chose to turn the tables and take revenge. Since then, the world has lived in a miserable situation of wars and more wars, rape and more rape. Man’s divorce from the feminine is escalating to a point of insanity. Man’s desire to dominate nature instead of protecting her is threatening to kill all life on the planet.
This is a simplistic picture of something in the human psyche gone wrong or warped. It is only in Tantra that we see harmony between the sexes wherein male and female attributes are both honoured equally.
A Tantra scripture, Lingopasana Rahasya says:
The symbol of the cosmic man Purusha, the archetype, the universal plan present in all things, is the male emblem, the phallus. The symbol of energy, which is the world’s substance; the generator of all that exists is the female organ, the Yoni.”
Integrated Male and Female, The Tree of Life
Couple feeding each otherI like to think of male and female together as a vast tree of life. The tree grows from a single seed and then at six weeks in the womb, there is a differentiation and the embryo either remains feminine (XX chromosomes) or becomes masculine (XY chromosomes). If the embryo remains feminine, the parts of the brain devoted to intuition, love and artistic tendencies grow bigger, while the areas devoted to power, competition, territorialness, and logic grow bigger in the male brain. To imagine how this links up, imagine a rose bush. The magnificent rose, so soft and vulnerable has a thorny stem, offering protection. In the same way, the feminine who is asked by nature to nurture the child for a long time, needs her masculine partner to protect her and take care that she can be secure while tending to the task of childbirth and rearing of children.
The problem arises when the masculine separates himself from the feminine and instead of being in service of feminine qualities of love and nurturing, he becomes like the thorns without the rose, going on a tangent of expressing his territorialness and competition in a frenzy of destructiveness, serving only destructiveness itself.
As men and women come to realize that we are simply two aspects of the same tree of life, and search for ways to blend our energies through meditation and love, we will find that the song of life is sweet indeed, with pleasure and celebration being our natural condition.
One of the puzzles that men face is how to manage being with a woman, holding her in her contradictory, emotional nature. This puzzle is easily solved when men open to their potential as a pillar of light and consciousness. When women are bitchy, they are in fact only testing the man to find out if he is able to hold them in all that they are. If the man passes the test, she will surrender herself completely into his arms, that her Shakti may be held at last by a worthy Shiva.
Healing the Wounded Masculine
Shiva and ParvatiPart of the warped scenario has been fuelled by ideologies, which harm the masculine very profoundly. To teach a man that sex is bad, i.e. sin, is to kill his spirit by cutting him off from his joy. A man is naturally deeply centred in and around his sexual organs. He needs to be worshipped there, rather than condemned. Just imagine the fact that in one ejaculation, a man releases enough sperm to populate half the planet! This is a tremendous power and energy! If he is told from an early age that this energy is bad, you are literally telling him that he is bad, that his very essence as a man should not exist. Naturally, as he shuts down from himself and his reason for being, he will be quite pissed off inside. He can then easily be manipulated into becoming a soldier and going to kill others and himself. Life is not worth living if you have been cut off from all joy and pleasure.
Reclaiming the power, joy, wildness and dignity of the male genitals is one of the most important healing works we have to do during these changing times.
People speak a lot about female genital mutilation, which is of course a horrendous practice. However, I find it bizarre that under our very noses, millions of boys are being forced to have genital mutilation and no one says anything about it! If you don’t believe that the act of circumcising is a travesty and a crime, watch the film Birth As We Know It and see the truth for yourself! The foreskin is delicate tissue, anatomically similar to the hood of the clitoris, which holds many nerve endings devoted to pleasure. To have this mutilated gives a message that pleasure is being sacrificed to pain, very early in life, making it almost undoubtedly a lifelong wound carried deep in the subconscious body memory. (Those that like conspiracy theories can have a field day with this!)
Another aspect of the male genitals that needs healing is that of civilisation vs animality. The first chakra, i.e. genital area, is naturally instinctual and animalistic. The instinctual search is for procreation and security. If a boy is told over and over that he has to drop being animalistic, and be civilised, he will be a sad shadow of who he could become. The animal nature needs to be celebrated, not repressed! People carry a deep ancestral fear of the animal, due to the fact that we had to fight to survive in a seemingly hostile world where one may be devoured at any moment by some wild animal. This has been translated into a fear of our own inner animal. People tend to think that if we allow the animal some space within, we will turn into raving beasts who have uncontrollable appetites for sex.
In fact, in the animal kingdom, sexual expression is very tame. Animals operate according to fixed natural laws that govern their bodies and sexual needs. Humans on the other hand can be taken over by lust as often as they desire.
Lingam Whispering and the Art of Sex
Rites of passageWe need to learn sexuality as an art form, playing with our desire and mastering it as one would tame a horse in the wild. Beating a horse is not the right way to tame it. The true masters of horse training are those who understand the language of horses, the horse whisperers. A whole new science is waiting to be born, that of ‘Lingam whispering’.
When a man reclaims his animal nature, he breathes a big sigh of relief and immediately discovers undreamed of sources of power and energy. When a man is honoured as a God in his genitals, his joy springs forth, like a bubbling stream. Within no time, his heart opens and he discovers the ecstasy of offering his strength in service to the feminine qualities of love and nurturing. In this way, he finds wholeness and reintegration with the tree of life.
Men are not born rough and destructive. Men are warped by the society in such a way that they no longer find how to live their natural joy. To reclaim this joy, Tantra and work with the sacred masculine is very important. Men need good role models, seeing himself mirrored in his own gender. He needs a rite of passage, where his entry into manhood is honoured with love and respect. If he is denied that, he will seek a rite of passage through drugs, fast cars, pornography and alcohol.
He also needs initiation into the art of being a Master Lover, so that all the days of his life he can enjoy maximum benefits of sexual love.
For the Lingam to find a balanced expression of sexual energy, it has to be celebrated as important and beautiful. Instead of cutting himself into bits, with mind and body being separated from each other, he needs to discover that he has a brain in his head, in his stomach and in his genitals. There is no such thing as mind and body. There is only bodymind as one whole interconnected unit. The man’s primary centres of power and energy reside in his genitals, his solar plexus and his throat. When he is able to live these energy centres in their fullness he will be a true man, in divine remembrance of his purpose in life.
Many men would love to discover Tantric secrets such as how to last longer in sex, how to please a woman, and how to have full body orgasm without ejaculation. These are all easy to learn and apply when the man meditates, moves his body as in sport or martial arts, learns to let go into laughter and tears and learns to express himself through poetry, singing, dance or some other art form. The healed and balanced expression of masculinity is a synthesis of power and vulnerability, spirituality and sexuality.
The Art of Self-Pleasuring
Wild man
Learning the art of self-pleasuring is a tremendous help for men to understand the movement and pathways of their own energy. Sexual energy can move down and out as in procreation, or in and up as in spiritual rebirth. The energy moving in and up is what leads to full body orgasm without ejaculation. To learn this art, it is necessary to begin with loving and honouring your genitals, and once aroused, to then move this energy through the whole body, snaking the spine and breathing deeply.
Touching the crown of the head and the perineum at the same time is also very helpful. If the man finds himself moving from warm to hot to red hot, he needs to let go of genital stimulation and move the energy upwards through the body before his sexual energy becomes volcanic.
He needs to let go of an intensely focused goal, and instead, open the possibility that he can become orgasmic in every cell. Relaxing beneath the orgasm reflex, and snaking the spine will create an invitation for the sexually aroused energy to begin its ascent towards the crown chakra.
He can also allow his aroused energy to melt into the valley, experiencing the deeply resting quality of yin. Sex is not about performance, it is actually about riding the waves of yin and yang for hours. In sex, we learn the art of surfing the waves, leading to ultimate fulfilment for the man and the woman.
The universe is the issue of the relationship between a masculine and a feminine principle. Everything, as a result, carries the signature of the Lingam and the Yoni. It is the deity, who in the form of the individual phallus, penetrates each womb and procreates all beings.”

From ‘Karpatri’, translated by Alain Daniélou
Anatomy of the Lingam
Tantra couple
Anatomically, the Lingam is an elegantly designed mechanism, which is both practical and pleasurable. The prostate supplies one part of what we know of as semen in the form of prostatic fluid, giving a milky appearance to the semen. The seminal vesicle supplies seminal fluid. And the third ingredient is the sperm, carrying the potential for new life. Sperm come to maturity in the testes, in 20 feet of coiled tubes called Ductus Epididymis. The testicles are amazing in their capacity to shrink close to the body if it is cold, or hang down lower and away from the body if it is too hot, thus maintaining an optimum temperature for the sperm. When a man is in erection and ready for ejaculation, the three ingredients blend. As he ejaculates, pleasurable spasms allow this precious nectar of life to be expelled out of the tip of his Lingam, propelling the sperm, surrounded by protective and nurturing elements, on their long pilgrimage to find a female egg to blend with. An enormous amount of vital energy is used in order for this task to be accomplished. This is why it is advised in Tantric texts for men to enjoy making love often but to conserve their ejaculation, offering it only on special occasions.
Testosterone, the principal male hormone, decreases progressively during a man’s life. If he ejaculates more than his body has allotted him to do, he will find himself without a bank balance of vital energy the older he gets. It is very important for men to learn Tantric arts of sexuality, discovering the sublime mastery that happens when he is able to conserve and circulate his energy. If he does this, he will be able to make love in an ecstatic Tantric circle of fulfilment, all the days of his life. The short term high of many successive and quick ejaculations is like cocaine, a destructive habit leading to impotence and depression.
Some men simply cannot imagine how it could be pleasurable to let go of frequent ejaculation in favour of frequent sex with ejaculation happening only sometimes. It is only by moving into the world of Tantra and understanding and experiencing the inner connectedness of sex, love and spirit that conservation of semen practice begins to make sense. And once a man has had the experience of whole body orgasm without ejaculation, he feels so vitally alive, so empowered and ecstatic that he would love to continue this practice and discover new levels of sexual mastery.
Addiction vs Mastery
Pan
The sexual organs are directly linked to the glandular system of the brain. Delgado, a behavioural scientist did an experiment on rats to find out how the sexual response in the brain functions. The rat had electrodes attached to the sex centre in the brain. By pushing a button, he could bring on the sensation of orgasm in the brain. The poor rat became addicted to the button and refusing both food and sleep, went on pushing the button till he died. It is an unfortunate fact that more and more men are taking a similar route through their addiction to pornography.
Sexuality involves all that we are, and if we isolate it in the mind and brain, we are sacrificing ourselves on the altar of greed. The society tends to encourage this behaviour, because it brings in a lot of financial rewards for those invested in such business. As long as the society is based on greed rather than love and nurturing, we will find ourselves hurtling towards the self-destructive tendency demonstrated by Delgado’s rat.
Tantra offers men and women both the opportunity to come back home to all that we are as sexual, loving, celebrative and spiritual beings. In fact, there is no other alternative for humanity today. We either choose a downward spiralling death oriented future or ecstatic wholeness based on life affirmation and inner mastery.
In Alain Alain Daniélou’s book The Phallus, he writes: “One century after the birth of Jesus, Plutarch reported the mysterious voice, heard by a sailor, announced the death of the great God ‘Pan’. This news froze the Greco-Roman world with horror. The Phallic God, the father of all the Gods risked dragging the civilized world with him in his fall, leaving men without protection. A new era opened up, full of dangers and conflicts, which little by little would lead to the extinction of the
human race.”
The Hero’s Journey
Shiva statue
If there is one thing I would like to affirm to men it is this: you are meant to be Masters of yourself, and protector custodians of the resources of this planet. When you learn to master your own internal eco system, balancing sexuality with spirituality, then you will naturally wish to balance the eco system of the planet and of society. It is a bit like living in a thriller at this time on the planet. Will men wake up in time to save the day? Will each man find his way to go on his own personal hero’s journey, discovering his true power and mastery? Will the God Pan once more be enthroned within each man, awakening his joyous potency and zest for life?
I am doing my best to initiate and inform men of their potential. And it is a big job. If anyone is called to help in this shifting of consciousness, I will be most happy to be of service in training as many people as possible. We need to bring about a global awareness of the immense gifts lying dormant within male sexuality and the male psyche.
Men, you are born to be co-creators with the divine. Nothing else will satisfy you because it is your innate nature to be an expression of godliness. The first step in claiming your power and your destiny is to reclaim your right to joy and to explore conscious sexuality. Once you get the knack, it is easy and natural to do so.
Steps for empowering the Masculine
  • Reclaim your balls and Lingam from repressive attitudes that have hijacked your sovereignty and joy.
  • Learn Tantra practices which will help you to become a Master of sexual energy, learning to surf the waves of yang and yin.
  • Go through sexual initiation with wise Tantric women, or in the workshop Master Lover.
  • Move into initiation through ‘Integrated Masculine’ men’s groups.
  • Practise self-pleasuring, which helps you to experience full body orgasmic states (see the book Divine Sexuality).
  • Activate your body in constructive ways, such as hiking, swimming, martial arts, dance, sports or Yoga.
  • Learn massage, as this skill will bring you untold pleasure and joy, for life.
  • Turn all your amazing creative energy and power towards being the protector and nurturer of the feminine qualities of love and beauty. This role of protector also includes protecting the eco system of the planet.
  • Meditate, learning to become a witnessing consciousness, a pillar of light. This energy and awareness begins with your sex centre and spreads to include your whole body.
  • A man is both powerful, as is the phallus in its erect state, and vulnerable, as is the phallus in its soft, resting state. Laugh often, enjoying the cosmic joke. A sense of humour is the bridge between power and vulnerability.

Woman and Man’s Sexual Fulfilment

Sarita gives an overview of the differences between the sexes in regard to sexual fulfilment.
Woman’s sexual fulfilment
Even though it appears that adults are knowledgeable about sex, sexual anatomy and sexual functioning. In my experience of having worked with thousands of people, the important subject of sexual relations remains under an obscure cloud of confusion in the minds of many.
Too often, a woman tries to force her sexual response to become like a man. This happens because both men and women are unaware of their opposite and yet complementary natures in regards to sex.
The woman has three areas in her genital region, which are important for sexual orgasm to take place, the clitoris (and clitoral network inside her body), a nerve in the sacrum (which is the trigger for orgasm), and the vagina (where contractions of orgasm take place).
Generally, a woman will become aroused firstly through touching, caressing, kissing or holding her entire body in deep loving embrace. She needs to experience a quality heart connection before opening up sexually. This slow buildup of arousal may take approximately 20 minutes. The woman has 3-5 thousand nerve endings in her clitoris all devoted to pleasure. These nerves come from erogenous zones all over her body. When she is touched and embraced, these nerves all over the body are activated, and her clitoris simultaneously ‘wakes up’.
It is best not to go directly to the clitoris as a way of stimulating a woman. A more teasing approach works much better. Nipples have nerves linked directly to the clitoris, so touching and massaging her breasts is of great importance.
If a lover holds the lower belly of his beloved, and simply remains present with her, within a few minutes, she will begin either laughing or crying. This is a signal that her second chakra is open. The second chakra of the woman is of tremendous importance for her to open up sexually, as it is from her lower belly that she will be able to discover the phenomenon of multiple orgasm. Emotional fluidity helps a woman to know all the joys of her sexual response, and a man needs to discover how to be comfortable just holding space while the woman moves into emotive waves.
Stroking the outer lips of her Yoni, her inner thighs, slowly and teasingly working your way to her inner lips, and finally encircling her clitoris with wet fingers or tongue, will drive her wild.
When her yoni is copiously wet, and her outer lips, inner lips and clitoris are in erection, then it is time to move into penetrative sexual union. A woman is changeable according to where she is in her monthly cycle, so the approach to her sacred portal may be different each time.
After having one orgasm, a woman’s body remains on an orgasmic plateau for at least 20 minutes, ready for more orgasms. If a man has his orgasm before she has enjoyed more orgasms, she may be very frustrated with the sex act. The game ended just as she was getting started!
In ancient Taoist Tantric texts, it is stated that a skilled lover will stimulate the woman at precise points and in particular ways, all over her body as part of the build up for sexual union. He is advised not to move into penetration unless she begs him to, with tears in her eyes, because she is so aroused that she cannot wait anymore!
In our culture, of instant coffee and instant everything, we have forgotten the joys of slow food and slow sex. A woman has been designed by existence to savor timeless, intimate and loving sexual union. For women’s sexual fulfillment, the art of Tantra is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

Man’s sexual fulfillment
The charisma and potency of a man resides in his sex center. He will be most attractive to women, and most fulfilled in himself, if he is able to celebrate his genitals and his sexual energy. The first chakra is a positive pole in the male body, which means his consciousness will revolve around first chakra issues. These are: sexual arousal, instinct for procreation, security, possessiveness, goal orientedness, competition. The more civilised a man is in his conditioning, the further away he may be from his basic instinctual nature. When he is dissociated from his genitals, a whole plethora of anxieties will haunt his being.
When moving into sexual union with a man, it is wise to deeply honour him in his sex center. If a woman lovingly holds his Lingam, his testicles, and massages the whole genital area, with deep reverence, he will begin coming in contact with his deeper nature, his Godliness. Each man has the potential to be a God. The definition of a God is: he who moves into sexual union in full consciousness.
With one ejaculation, a man releases enough sperm to populate half the planet. Nature has invested a tremendous amount of energy in each man, making him a co-creator with existence itself. This tremendous power needs to be recognized by both man and woman, and treated with reverence.
When a man ejaculates each time he has sex, he will gradually diminish his pleasure and power. It is wise for a man to learn how to move into the sexual act with no goal, discovering ways to ride the waves of pleasure for hours on end. His body has it’s own timing when ejaculation will be needed, and this is according to his age and health. A younger man needs ejaculation more often, while an older man needs genital release less. A man can attain phenomenal ecstasy states when he makes love often and ejaculates only sometimes. He will eventually be able to experience full body orgasm without ejaculation.
A man can further develop his capacity for deepest fulfillment, when he learns to become the meaning of the word Lingam, Pillar of Light. This quality of being arises when he is centered enough to contain contradictory elements within himself. When he can be both powerful and vulnerable in one and the same moment, he will be able to truly be with a woman.
A woman is made of contradictions, she is Shakti, and behaves in much the same way as the weather, i.e. unpredictably. When a man discovers his essence as Shiva, a Pillar of Light and consciousness, he will then be able to hold and be with Shakti in equanimity and inner mastery.
Meditation combined with a sense of humor will help him discover this state of being.
A beautiful poem from a Tantra Scripture says:
Behold the Shiva Lingam
Beautiful as molten gold
Firm as the Himalayan Mountain
Tender as a folded leaf
Life giving like the solar orb
Behold the splendor of his sparkling jewels!

Lingam in Yoni, Sun in Moon

Let me tell you one story, one of the very daring and courageous stories.
Such a courageous story is possible only in India. Not today’s India, because today’s India has become very cowardly.
You must have seen a lingam, Shiva’s symbolic representation as phallus. There are millions of temples devoted to Shiva’s lingam. In fact you will never find a statue of him. His statues have completely disappeared; only the symbol has remained. The symbol is not only lingam; it is yoni also. It is both, man and woman. It is man into woman, it is sun into moon. It is the male meeting the female. It is yin and yang in deep sexual embrace. This is the indication of how the inner man meets with the inner woman, because the inner has no face. That’s why Shiva’s statues have disappeared. The inner is just energy, so the lingam has no form; it is just energy.
But the story is told…. Don’t be shocked by it, because the Western mind has become much too afraid of reality.
From today your form
will disappear from the world
and you will always be remembered
as a phallic symbol.
The story is that Shiva was making love to Devi, his consort. And of course when a Shiva makes love to his consort, it is no ordinary love. And he does not make love with closed doors; the doors were open. There was some emergency in the world of the gods, and Brahma and Vishnu and the whole crowd of gods had come to ask Shiva’s solution about some urgent problem. So they came in the room – the privacy of Shiva became a marketplace – but he was so deeply in love that he was not aware that a crowd was watching. All the gods became voyeurs. They could not leave, because something tremendous was happening. The energy was so high; they felt it. They could not leave. They could not disturb, because it was so sacred.
And Shiva went on making love, and on and on and on. The gods became worried, whether he is ever going to end it. And they were in such a problem that an urgent solution was needed. But Shiva was completely lost. He was not there, Devi was not there – the man and woman have completely merged into each other. Some unity has happened, a great synthesis, a great orchestra of energies.
They wanted to stay, but then they become afraid of the other gods. That’s how the puritan mind works. They were very interested in seeing and watching, but they were afraid because if others saw them watching and seeing and enjoying it, their prestige was at stake. So they all cursed Shiva: “From today your form will disappear from the world and you will always be remembered as a phallic symbol”: lingam in yoni, sun in moon, the jewel in the lotus. “Now you will be remembered always as sexual orgasm.” This was a curse.
This always happens. I have one friend who is very against pornography, and his whole library is full of pornography. So once I visited him; I said, “What is this?” He said, “I have to read all the pornographic books just to criticize them. I have to be aware of what is happening in pornography because I am so much against it.” He is eating his cake and having it also.
The other devas cursed Shiva, but to me that curse seems to have proved to be a blessing, because the symbol is really beautiful. It is the only phallic symbol in the world worshipped as God, without any condemnation. Hindus have completely forgotten that it is phallic; they don’t think that it is phallic. They have accepted it deeply. And the symbol is beautiful because that is not only Shiva there, there is yoni also. Yin is also there. The lingam is placed in yoni; both are meeting. It is a symbol of meeting, of orgasm, of energy becoming one.
The same happens inside, but it will happen only when you drop the mind. Love is possible only when you drop the mind. But if you drop the mind, then not only love but God also is possible; because love is God.
Osho Early Pune
If an inner conflict exists in you between sun and moon, then you will always be interested in the outer woman. If you are a man, you will be interested in the outer woman; you will be fascinated by the outer woman. If you are a woman, you will be fascinated by the outer man. Once the inner conflict is resolved and your sun energy is moving into the moon energy and there is no longer any rift, they are bridged; then you will not be fascinated by the outer woman or outer man. For the first time you will be sexually content.
We have a symbolic representation
of Shiva as Ardhanarishwar –
half-man/ half-woman.
That’s perfect.
I am not saying that you will leave the outer woman. There is no need. Or you will leave the outer man – there is no need. But now the whole relationship will be totally different – very harmonious. It will not be a relationship of need; rather, it will be a relationship of sharing. Right now when a man approaches a woman it is a question of need. He wants to use the woman as a means. The woman wants to use the man as a means. That’s why all women and all men are continuously in a fight: basically they are fighting within themselves. The same fight is reflected outwards.
And when you are using a woman, how can you think the woman can be totally at ease with you, in harmony? She feels she is being reduced to a means. And no man or woman is a means. She feels she is being used like a thing, reduced to a thing. Her soul seems to be lost; that’s why she is angry. And she tries to reduce the man to a thing. She turns the husband into a henpecked husband; she forces him. And this goes on.
This is more a conflict than love – a struggle. More like war than like love – more like hatred than like love.
Man is a frame,
woman is a frame –
it is not your being.
Once you are in tune with your inner woman and man, suddenly you are in tune with others also. Your inner conflict disappears; your outer conflict disappears. The outer is just a shadow to the inner. Then you can be related; or you may not be related. You are totally independent. Then it is whatsoever you choose it to be. If you want to be related, you can be related; but there will be no conflict. If you don’t want to be related, if you want to be alone, you can be alone; and there will be no loneliness. This is the beauty when one comes to an organic unity inside.
That’s what Patanjali’s whole effort is: how to transform the solar energy into lunar energy. And then, how to be a witness to both, meeting, merging, becoming one. How to be transcendental to them.
The mind will never allow you; unless you drop the mind. The mind always is divided because that is its very blood; it depends on division. So you are a man, you are a woman – this is division, this is mind. Who is a Buddha – a man or a woman? We have a symbolic representation of Shiva as Ardhanarishwar – half-man/ half-woman. That’s perfect. And that has to be so because you are born of a father and a mother – half of you comes from your father, half of you comes from your mother. So at the most the difference between a woman and man is a difference of emphasis; it is not a difference of quality. The woman is consciously woman, unconsciously man; the man is consciously man, unconsciously woman. That’s all the difference is.
Very difficult, because your minds have been conditioned to be a man or to be a woman, and the society emphasizes the roles too much. It does not allow a fluid being; it makes solids of you. When the boy and the girl can understand, the parents start emphasizing, “You are a boy. Don’t play with dolls; that’s not good for a boy. You are going to be a man. This is for girls.” Men don’t count girls at all. “Sissy, girlish. Don’t do it; be a man.” And the small boy, not knowing where he is being led, starts focusing on being a man more and more. He goes far away from his original unity, the pure unity of his being. He becomes man, that is half his being. And a girl becomes a woman, that is half her being. She is told not to climb on the trees; that is only for boys. What nonsense. Trees are for all. “Don’t go swimming in the river; that is for the boys.” Rivers are for all.
That’s how humanity is impoverished. Hmm?… the girl is given a certain role and the boy is given a certain role. Their totality is completely lost. They become fixed in their windows; they cannot see the whole sky; the frame of the window becomes too much.
Man is a frame, woman is a frame – it is not your being. Don’t be too identified with the frame. Get out of it.
Once you start loosening, relaxing, and once you start reabsorbing the rejected, the denied part; you will become so enriched you cannot even imagine, dream. Then your being will be whole.

Osho: L’orgasmo clitorideo e l’orgasmo vaginale.

L’orgasmo clitorideo non è niente rispetto all’orgasmo vaginale.
Osho.

Osho Meditation and Masturbation

Medical science has established with absolute evidence that masturbation does not lead to insanity. But religions continue to repeat that too much masturbation destroys intelligence and leads to premature death.

Well, no one can masturbate too: it is impossible. You can masturbate just enough - in your body there is only a certain amount of sperm and you can release only as much - most of you can not. Whatever you do, you can not immediately produce more sperm. It takes time. So there is a natural prevention to do it too, and if the monks of all religions would listen to me, I would tell them: "masturbate and meditate."

I could also call a book: Meditation through masturbation. If you can reach the superconsciousness through sex, because you should not come to meditation through masturbation? It is definitely possible. You simply need to look with new eyes.

When a person's jerking off and start to feel that is about to reach a state of orgasmic, his thoughts disappear. Experience the same orgasmic state that happens making love to a woman. There is no difference. At the biological level there is no difference. The semen is released in a mechanism, in a body or somewhere else, is of no importance. It is to bring the sexual tension to its fulfillment, which is more easily implemented with masturbation, as with a woman the other is present. In masturbation you are the master.

You can go slow or fast, you can reach orgasm very slowly. The state is orgasmic meditation, become aware. Alone will be easier, because there is no one else that bothers you, it's you, only.
So do the whole world know that masturbation does not lead to insanity; celibacy can lead to madness, not masturbation.

And if homosexuals do not feel interest to women, then perhaps masturbation is closer to the nature of homosexuality. And masturbation can be combined with meditation.
I'm saying these things for your own good, because you will face these problems and will not have to make the same mistakes as always. If you see a child who masturbates, not to commit the same nonsense that is done everywhere. Just tell him: "It's fine. Meditate well, and you will receive more pleasure. And there's nothing wrong, so there is no need for you to hide. "But man is such a coward. Is unable to face reality ...

You can very easily combine meditation and masturbation, and it'll get a lot of joy. If meditation is associated with a great joy, your whole life will be different. All religions have done the exact opposite. They destroyed your joy and you have taught meditation, so meditation does not get results. You can succeed only if it is a joyful experience, why not connect with a joy so easily available organic? But people want to kill me, he wants to kill me because I say these things, even if I just  confirm absolutely scientific facts.

Yoni Revolution

Sarita offers an in-depth explanation of how the Yoni works on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
The Sacredness of the Yoni
Vagina - paintingThe portal of the female Yoni deserves to be honoured in myriad ways, through the arts, research into ecstatic birthing methods, scientific study of her multifaceted attributes and in dedicated research and practice of the arts of sexual ecstasy.
The meaning of the Yoni in Sanskrit is, Sacred Place. This word is fast coming into vogue as women learn to reclaim pride in being a woman. Many women are now aware that it is not enough to achieve the same status as men in the marketplace.
A new dawn is coming where women are discovering that it is our birthright to be Goddesses, ‘she who knows the secrets of discovering heaven on earth’. An important part of the revolution from woman to Goddess is the Yoni. By understanding the attributes of the Yoni, we simultaneously discover true empowerment.
Anatomy of Female Sexual Arousal
Female sexual anatomy is a miracle. It is unfortunate that even now, many women still believe the erroneous statement made by Freud that infantile women need clitoral stimulation during sex, while a mature woman orgasms from penetration alone. He made this statement without any scientific study to back his claim. Later during the 50’s and 60’s Masters and Johnson proved him wrong through their lab studies of women’s sexual response. And recently, groundbreaking work in the lab has been and continues to be done on many aspects of female arousal and sexual activation, in the genitals, and the body as a whole, including the brain. Woman’s sexuality is holistic, and includes an entire network of responsive tissue, nerves, glands and hormonally based emotional states.
There are three main erogenous zones for female sexual arousal:
  1. The clitoris and the clitoral network
  2. The G Spot
  3. The cervix (mouth of the womb)
In addition to this, there is a nerve in the sacrum which functions as the ‘trigger’ for genital orgasm.
This delicate network of nerves and erectile tissue is linked directly with the glandular system of the brain and is also connected to nerves and other communication systems all over the body.
The Clitoris
FlowerThe clitoris we see or touch on the outside of the body is just the tip of a large network of pleasure oriented erectile tissue. In the clitoris are 3-5000 nerve endings devoted only to the arousal of ecstasy states. The clitoral network has bulbs inside the body, arms that hug the vagina from inside the body, as well as the vulva (outer lips and inner lips) and a hood, which sits on top of the clitoris, linked to the vulva. All of this goes into erection when the woman becomes aroused, making her hypersensitive and lubricated, ready for potential penetration.
As erection happens, her vagina lengthens and balloons, adapting itself to receive the Lingam of her lover (In Sanskrit, the word Lingam means Pillar of Light, symbolizing the male genitals).
The G-Spot
The G-spot that is located just inside the entrance of the Yoni is the end of a bundle of nerves linked to the clitoral network. When the woman is aroused, the G-spot becomes slightly swollen and more sensitive than it is in its passive state. Energetically, it is connected to the Womb, being an acupressure area, which holds memories of either pleasure or pain in regards to the woman’s sexual and birth experiences.
Taoist erotic artWhen energy is liberated in this zone, a woman can discover the blessing of Amrita (also known as female ejaculation). The Taoist Tantra masters have named this area, ‘the Palace of Yin.’ It was thought most auspicious for a man to be able to drink the fountain of Amrita (meaning nectar in Sanskrit and in Chinese, translated as Moon Flower medicine). There are wonderful erotic paintings from ancient China and Japan, showing a male lover holding a goblet under his beloved’s yoni to catch this precious fluid, which was thought to grant him a longer life.
The Cervix, Portal of the Goddess
The cervix is a highly sensitive erogenous zone, which offers women the possibility to open to multi-orgasmic states and to a deep experience of her Goddess nature. The Yoni has its own masterful intelligence and the portal of the cervix will not reveal its full potential unless the sexual arousal between the male and female is of a high enough calibre. When the conditions are right for a deep sexual union, the woman will be catapulted into ecstasy states which cause her brain to shut down its rational aspects. In these moments of deepest surrender, she experiences divinity. She knows herself to be the Goddess.
A Tantric sexual secret is hidden in the cervical union of Lingam and Yoni. When the tip of the Lingam kisses the cervix in just the right way, an amazing transmission and transmutation happens. The tip of the lingam transforms from giver to receiver and begins drinking the offering of amrita from the womb. The cervix becomes the giver, offering a profound transmission of the power of Shakti to her Shiva. This in turn gives rise to what is called ‘the Tantric Circle’ wherein male and female become one spinning wheel of yin and yang and may forget who is the male and who is the female. This state of oneness is what is sought in each sexual meeting, whether the lovers know it or not.
The Sacrum: A Trigger for Orgasm
The sacral nerves trigger orgasmIn the sacral area are many acupressure points linked to the glandular system of the brain. These points are also connected to nerves linked to brain, spine and genitals. One such nerve in the centre of the sacrum functions as the trigger for orgasm once full arousal has happened. If someone has stagnation in his or her sacral area or lower spine, it may be difficult to achieve orgasm. While lovers begin engaging in sexual play, it is very helpful to include massage of the sacrum as a way of opening up orgasmic potential.
Full Body Orgasm
When a woman is aroused only locally directly on and around her outer clitoris, she may have a more localized and less fulfilling orgasm. If her arousal spreads deeper inside her clitoral network, and she attains full erection of all erectile tissue of her genitals, both inner and outer, she will have more ecstatic orgasms, which are deeply fulfilling. For the portal of the Goddess to be opened within and for the woman to experience full body orgasm, there is a protocol to follow.
The clitoris has nerve endings that arrive to this erogenous zone from all over the body. For full arousal to be experienced, the woman will need full body activation. She has the potential for such a level of excitation that her entire body will feel as if it is one giant clitoris. This happens when all the nerve endings of the clitoris are awakened in their connectivity to all other parts of the body, including the glandular system of the brain.
Slow and Sensual Arousal
Tantra temples at KhajurahoOne of the findings of sex researchers is that for a woman to become aroused fully in her genitals and ready for penetration by a Lingam, she will need minimum 20 minutes of all over body connectivity and touch. This could be through caressing, massage, hugging, or kissing, and other forms of all over body stimulation.
This finding is interesting considering that in ancient Tantra Taoist texts, it is stated that a man needs to spend time arousing the woman through artful means, and should not attempt penetration till she begs him to with tears in her eyes! In general, a slow, tender and teasing build up of arousal works very well for many women.
It has also been found that tender loving words can greatly excite women, and that as part of the awakening of orgasmic potential, it is very helpful to have a romantic atmosphere, i.e. soft lights, soft music, wonderful aphrodisiac scent, and other sensorial activations.
Sounds in Sex
Once the woman begins moving into an altered state through her sensual and sexual build up, it is very helpful if she allows sounds and movement to possess her, beyond conscious control.
A friend, Robert Silber, who has studied women’s sexual response extensively through Yoni massage, has informed me that women’s capacity for orgasmic states is directly linked to how vocal she is able to be while experiencing pleasure.
The Woman’s Body is a Musical Instrument
by Priya MahtaniThe woman’s body is a musical instrument devoted to pleasure. The wise lover will first tune the instrument, and will then begin playing the raga of sexual fulfillment, with himself in the role of master musician. The art of Indian Raga music offers a great teaching in the arts of sexual love through how it moves from tuning, to slow buildup and from there to orgasmic splendor, where the musician and the instrument become like lover and beloved, finally merging into one.
Being Possessed
In past Tantric cultures, the arts of erotic love were taught. If these arts are not learned, we end up with the most basic instinctual type of sexuality, which tends to be over with very quickly and offers no chance of pleasure for the woman. Even worse than that is sexuality, which is programmed through cultural inhibitions leading to a sex act, which is no more exciting than a sneeze.
Deep down, each woman longs for complete surrender with her beloved. She wants to let go and lose control, being possessed by love to her intimate core of being. When she feels safe with her man, knowing that it is fine to really be herself, she will go wild. She becomes lost to herself, drunk on her capacity for ecstasy. In such a state, she will be able to know all that erotic love can give, including, multiple full body orgasms.
The Goddess Unveiled
Goddess dancing by Shivananda-300x223Women and men cannot feel fulfilled unless and until we have experienced the splendour of fulfilling sex. I have heard Osho say that people go on changing partners because deep down we are searching for someone with whom we can experience the most ecstatic orgasm. In my years working with couples and individuals, I have found this is true. We may mask our desire behind other flowery terms, but deep down the search for fulfilling sex is of paramount importance.
The Yoni of the woman is a portal into ecstasy and beyond. The more at home we are with our capacity for orgasmic ecstasy, the easier it will be to allow ourselves to be catapulted into a merging with universal consciousness. As we enter total orgasm, simultaneously the supreme wisdom of our Goddess nature is revealed.
I am sharing this because I know it through my own experience. One may think that perhaps this is a unique gift I have experienced and that it is not possible for all. However, my research in working with thousands of women and reading much literature on the subject reveals that such experience is the birthright of every woman.
The sexual revolution will not be complete unless and until each woman has experienced her Goddess nature.

Women’s Sexual Fulfilment

Mahasatvaa Ma Ananda Sarita explains how women can find sexual and spiritual fulfillment
The sexual fulfilment of women is vital for harmony in love relationships, in the family and for the well being of society as a whole. I can even go so far as to say the future of our planetary well being depends on it. It is one of my favourite topics, and I have dedicated 37 years of personal and professional research to its study.
Statues on Khajuraho temples
Statues on Khajuraho temples
There are five factors which are important to understand when discussing women’s sexual fulfilment.
1) Sexual anatomy
2) Cycles
3) Sensorial orientation
4) Chakra orientation
5) Spiritual potency
I have written a book called “Divine Sexuality” which goes into great detail on the subject of both women’s and men’s sexuality. This article highlights some of the key points that are essential for women. I refer to the vagina as the ‘yoni’ – the Tantric word for the female genitals, meaning ‘sacred place’ – and the penis as ‘lingam,’ meaning ‘wand of light’.

Sexual anatomy

Did you know that:
· The clitoris has 3000—5000 nerve endings, all devoted to pleasure, connected to pleasure centres all over her body.
· The hood of the clitoris is attached to the clitoral bulbs, which reside inside the body and become engorged and erect when the woman is sexually excited. The hood is also connected to the vaginal lips, both inner and outer which also become engorged and erect during excitation.
· Orgasmic contractions happen inside the yoni, but the intensity can vary, depending on the degree of excitation and arousal in the whole body, thus giving rise to the terms: ‘whole body orgasm,’ vs ‘localized clitoral orgasm.’
· In general, women require a minimum of 20 minutes of sensual and sexually stimulating ‘warm up’ to reach a threshold from where sexual orgasm becomes possible.
· After sexual orgasm, in general, a woman remains on the plateau, ready for more orgasms, for at least 20 minutes.
· Women are capable of experiencing multiple orgasms, (one orgasm feeding into the next in an unbroken river of ecstasy,) as well as chain orgasms, (one orgasm following the next with short gaps in between.)
· The yoni of a woman is not very sensitive unless she is highly aroused. This is because it is the birth canal, and if it was as sensitive as the clitoris and clitoral bulbs, it would be excruciating to give birth.
· When the woman is highly aroused, the yoni lengthens and expands, giving rise to a craving to be penetrated by her lover.
· The yoni, being versatile, forms herself to fit the size of the lingam which is penetrating her (within reason according to anatomical proportions of both partners.)
· The way a woman desires to be stimulated sexually, or to stimulate herself, stems from how she has learned to experience sexual pleasure. In most cases, her sexual empowerment is dependent on how she has trained herself to respond sexually during masturbation.
· A woman is capable of multiple orgasms into her 90’s and beyond.
I have worked with countless women in groups and individual sessions and have found that in general, women carry a great deal of misconception around the subject of orgasm. Because of this, women tend to walk around with shame and secret suffering which they may even hide from their lovers. One example of this is that 50% of women fake orgasm.
For this sorry state of affairs, there are multiple factors to blame. One important factor is that Freud made an erroneous statement, which had no basis in scientific fact. He observed that there are two types of women, the ‘infantile’ and the ‘mature.’ He stated that the ‘infantile woman’ needs clitoral stimulation in order to orgasm, while the ‘mature woman’ orgasms from penetration alone. Even today, this erroneous statement haunts the lives of millions of women with unnecessary suffering.
Masters and Johnson scientifically tested this statement in a clinical study. Electrodes were attached to women who said they reached orgasm from penetration alone, and their sexual response was carefully monitored as they were engaged in sexual intercourse. It was found in each case that the women were actively stimulating their clitoris, through the friction of the lingam rubbing on the clitoris, or by the clitoral hood stimulating the clitoris with the friction of intercourse.
It was later verified in the groundbreaking research of Masters and Johnson that the three elements – clitoral arousal, sacral nerve, and vaginal contractions – are necessary for female orgasm to take place.
Another factor which has had a great deal of influence is that a large majority of women in Western society did not even know they were capable of orgasm until the 1900s. It was thought that marriageable women did not enjoy sex, but simply put up with it as a chore in order to please their husbands or to get children. People believed that only fallen women, or prostitutes, had pleasure in sex. Therefore, many women carry the ancestral belief that they have no right to pleasure and are meant to have sex to please their partner, never daring to ask for what they want and need. The healing for this is for women to practice self-pleasuring, (masturbation) and discover what you like and how you like it sexually and then to communicate this to your partner. If you do not know and love your own body and way to pleasure, your partner will not know either.
Because women have not been aware of their own capacity for pleasure, when the women’s movement began, the direction many women took was to deny their feminine nature, to copy men and compete to ‘do it better.’ Sexually this has been disastrous. Women’s sexual response is diametrically opposite to men’s. This is why we are complementary. Just imagine the positive poles of two magnets trying to meet. They cannot. They oppose each other energetically. However, if you have a receptive pole and a positive pole of the magnets coming together, they glue together with great eagerness. Opposites attract.
Another very important factor is education and the lack of it. Because of the destructive idea propounded by some spiritual traditions, that spiritual fulfilment is only possible if one denies sex, there is a great lack of any kind of intelligent sexual education. And because our species’ survival depends on sex, of course our bodies make it a priority.
In our present so called sexually free society, there is still a great lack of sex education, and yet the internet and other media are full of pornography. I have nothing against sexually explicit media, if it remains true to men and women’s real experience and potential. Pornography, however, is for the most part simply idiotic and gives false impressions to people as to what is ‘expected’ during sex. It tends to psychologically and emotionally damage the impressionable young who are trying to learn about this most vital subject.
An exquisitely beautiful young woman came to my Tantra course. She admitted in private that she was a high-class prostitute, in great demand, but inside she felt nothing but disgust and had never known orgasm (though she was good at faking it.) I asked her about her formative years and how she found out about sex. At age nine she was introduced to pornography. The first film she saw was one in which humans were having sex with animals. She was so horrified that she went into complete shock and shutdown, and this psychological and emotional trauma, became a catalyst towards her profession as an unhappy prostitute. Luckily this story has a happy ending. I was able to offer healing to her, and subsequently, she found a Beloved and discovered the joy of orgasm.
In my groups, it gives me great joy to empower the feminine in women, helping women to become aware of their power and potential, not only in orgasm, but in many other areas of life.

Cycles

Women are keepers of the tides of life, of all life cycles. This is so because we are bound to the moon, and to the ever-present facts of birth and of death inherent in our womb. When we carry a child in the womb, the gestation of this child moves through each aspect of evolution. This means we are the keepers of the whole history of evolution, of all of life. When we are not carrying a child, and are in the cycles of menstruation, each month we go through creation and de-creation. As the lining of the womb moves out with the menstrual flow, our hormone levels drop and we go through a small death. When we begin awakening to the awesome power inherent in being woman, and we link this to our natural yearning to nurture and love, we will naturally be drawn to become the custodians of life in all its aspects. When a woman is not aware of her feminine power, inherent in her womb, she simultaneously is in denial of her full potential for ecstasy.
I have met many women who believe that if they go into their full orgasmic potential, it will frighten the men they are with. And so they hold back, not wanting to rock the boat. Our full orgasmic potential is intimately connected to how we are with our womb, with our life cycles and with our monthly menstrual cycle.
Deepest ecstasy in orgasm arises when the womb is energetically open and the woman is passionately in love with being the womb of all of life. To help support this, learn to breathe and to make sounds during sexual arousal. Learn to love your belly, and to love your menstruation. Keep a diary of your cycles and note down how you feel, sexually and emotionally, during the different phases of the moon cycle. If your man is afraid of your sexual ecstasy, he would benefit from going to a men’s group, a Shamanic group, or a Tantra group, where he can experience a rite of passage into full manhood.

Sensorial orientation

To be sexually fulfilled, as women, we need to honour the fact that, in general, we need to open up through the kinesthetic sense. We need touching, cuddling, emotional security and feelings of all kinds. Of course, women also have highly developed visual, auditory or olfactory senses, but for moving into sexual contact, we need to own and be comfortable with our potential for emotional fluidity.
During sexual play, when a woman’s womb centre opens, she will have a tendency to laugh or to cry. This is a signal that her yoni is now open and ready for penetration. It is common that the woman cries as she climaxes, and unfortunately this is often at the very end of the sexual act. For the sex to be more fulfilling, she needs to open up her emotional flow before penetration. This can happen very easily by the partner placing his relaxed hands on her belly and just being present with her womb centre. Within five or 10 minutes, she will most likely find herself either laughing or crying, and this is a signal that all is flowing.

Chakra orientation

The seven main chakras are a vast subject by themselves. In brief, chakras are energetic centres in the body, which mirror cosmic principles and support each person to become a full spectrum rainbow, merging into white light. Each chakra has a masculine or positive aspect or a female, receptive aspect. In the male and female bodies, the chakras are complementary opposites. This means that, in the same way you experience orgasm at the first chakra (sex centre), you can also experience orgasm at the second chakra (lower belly), or at the third chakra (stomach area), and so on up to the seventh. The male and female chakras fit together like lock and key, as complementary opposites. In the male, the first chakra is positive and outgoing, while in the woman, it is receptive. In the second chakra, the belly, the woman is more outgoing, while the male is receptive. In the third chakra (stomach), the man is outgoing and woman is receptive. In the heart chakra, the woman is outgoing and the man is receptive. In the throat chakra, the man is outgoing and the woman receptive. In the sixth chakra (centre of brain in line with the third eye), the woman is outgoing and the man is receptive. In the seventh chakra, at the crown of the head, male and female merge beyond duality.
A very important key for the woman to be sexually fulfilled is for her to awaken to her positive polarities in the chakra system. She needs to own and celebrate her womb centre (second chakra) as described earlier. She needs to nurture her capacity for unconditional love in the fourth chakra (heart centre), and she needs to open up and use her intuition, held at the sixth chakra (third eye centre). When this happens, she will automatically become open to her lover in her receptive centres, and he will at last feel he is being fully received. When we feel disempowered, we do not open to the partner, but rather protect ourselves. When you awaken the power and potential of your positive chakras, you will shine and feel ready to absorb the gifts given by the male principle.

Spiritual potency

As the woman is the womb for all of life, she is also the birth giver and the spiritual mother for this world. If she is weak, and unaware of her own ecstasy, she will give birth to a world based on a collapsed feminine, and an over aggressive masculine, as we see today. This situation can change very rapidly if women everywhere can open up to their own divinity and power.
It has happened at least twice in history, that two warring tribes came to almost instantaneous peace when the women of both tribes joined together and refused to have sex with their men until the war was stopped and a peace treaty was agreed. The woman’s power is in her capacity to become love and to radiate that love into each and every aspect of life.
During orgasm, it has been found by scientists who put electrodes in the brain that a woman’s brain completely shuts down. No-mind is a highly prized spiritual state because it takes us beyond past or future, into the present moment. When a woman is moving into orgasmic ecstasy, she can easily use this state to access what is known as Mahamudra, meaning ‘the great gesture which arises out of the orgasm with the universe.’ A woman’s orgasm can be so powerful and full bodied that it can propel her into Samadhi (universal consciousness). Having known her capacity for ecstasy, she then wants to bless the whole world. She becomes a devotee of life.
